Redesigned Popular Audi A3

After skipping the 2021 model, the 2022 Audi A3 gets a dramatic redesign with an attractive new front end and more high-end features. While the previous generation of the A3 was already popular, the redesign looks even better and will turn even more heads. Audi will offer three trims: the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige, offering different levels of features for drivers who want an entry-level compact luxury sedan.

Satisfying Performance

The 2022 Audi A3 comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Audi includes a seven-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive.

Buyers can add Audi Quattro all-wheel drive to add more stability and handling capability to the sport suspension in all three trims. Drivers appreciate the smooth power and efficiency of the powertrain combined with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Safety on the Road

The Audi A3 comes standard with several driver-assistance features. The Premium trim comes standard with High-Beam Assist, Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Audi Pre-Sense Basic Technology, a Rearview Camera, and Lane Departure Warning. Audi adds Park Assist and Active Cruise Assist to the Premium Plus trim. The Prestige trim comes with Traffic Sign Recognition and a Head-Up Display for more safety on the road.

Other safety features include 10 standard airbags, traction control, power steering, and a rain and light sensor. Some features, like Blind-Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, are available as add-ons.

The 2022 A3 has yet to be tested by the safety organizations. However, if the 2022 model is anything like the previous models, it should receive safety recognition. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2020 A3 a Top Safety Pick, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2019 A3 a five-star crash rating.

Loaded with High-Tech Features

All 2021 A3 models come standard with a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, but the Prestige trim comes with the Virtual Cockpit Plus and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Each Audi includes smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Bluetooth technology. SiriusXM Satellite Radio is available with the Convenience Package.

Buyers can add a 360-degree parking camera, wireless charging, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound.

The new A3 comes with what will soon be iconic headlight designs. The Matrix-design LED headlights give the A3 a modern design that will turn heads. Buyers who add the Black Optic Sport package get a black tint on the LED headlights and other attractive blacked-out exterior features.

Sharp Styling Inside and Out

The 2022 Audi A3 has a unique look that separates it from previous generations. The LED headlights illuminate the roads with attractive visibility. Buyers who appreciate LED lights can also add them to the interior by selecting the Interior Style Package.

The A3 comes with leather seating in several colors including Santos Brown-Steel Gray, Black-Rock Gray, and Parchment Beige-Steel Gray. These leather seating combinations all come with a black dashboard and a steel gray headliner.

On the outside, the A3 trims come standard with 17-inch wheels, but buyers can upgrade to an 18-inch wheel package. All models also come with a standard panoramic sunroof and automatic climate controls.

Audi offers an attractive Convenience Package on the Premium trim. This package includes the Audi advanced key, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior features, rear cross-traffic assist, driver’s seat memory settings, a motion-sensor alarm, park assist, and an auto-dimming interior mirror with a compass.
